Project: Unifying Theories

There is a disastrous fragmentation of the field of systems theories. There are many competing theories (we count over one hundred) and each one is promoted by its author without much comparison between theories for finding similarities or highlighting differences or doing testing and evaluation to decide between alternatives.

As a result, two societies entered into an MOU (memo of understanding agreement) to attend each others workshops and annual meetings in order to promote unification of the diverse theories. INCOSE (the International Council on Systems Engineering) agreed to a standing multi-year project of its SSWG (Systems Sciences Working Group), led by this websites author, to attempt to synthesize or integrate the existing theories in terms of isomorphies. The Systems Processes Theory (SPT) was already attempting this across half a century (see systems processestheory.com).
