Systems Applications (5)

How can one move the theoretical and empirical findings of the new field of systems science to the betterment of human experience? That is the purpose of this section.

It is our contention that the more philosophical of approaches to systems thinking may be useful for raising the awareness of corporations, industries, and social communities to changing their worldview to SEE their problems as systems-level problems, BUT that these are still not informed sufficiently about the MECHANICS of solving the problems. Systems Thinking seems to us to be more of an act of faith and bringing others to recognize that faith approach. We contend that knowing how natural systems work, where you can better study them, will lead to better solution of socio-economic problems with less unintended consequences that are negative. We contend that detailed scientific knowledge, as delivered by research, education, and application of the detailed MECHANICS of the Isomorphies of Systems Processes Theory are a better knowledge base for solving our pressing socio-economic problems.

As in modern bio-medicine, where “translational” medicine and pharmaceuticals are receiving ever greater attention and funding to stimulate the transfer of basic research to the clinic, modern systems science needs to make practical its knowledge base on Isomorphies. As biomimicry has so successfully led to new engineered solutions in bioengineering, so also “systems mimicry” must lead to better curation, cure, and sustainability of man-made systems or curation of the hybrid systems we are all part of.

We invite blog reactions to the attempts we are currently making to enable this transfer of explicit systems understanding to improvement of the human situation. Our vision includes both immediate applications and applications in the very far future. We have broken them up into several areas of application to better serve explorers of this website.
