Systems Applications (4)

How can one move the theoretical and empirical findings of the new field of systems science to the betterment of human experience? That is the purpose of this section. As in modern bio-medicine, where “translational” medicine and pharmaceuticals are receiving ever greater attention and funding to stimulate the transfer of basic research to the clinic, modern systems science needs to make practical its knowledge base. As biomimicry has so successfully led to new engineered solutions in bioengineering, so also “systems mimicry” must lead to better curation, cure, and sustainability of man-made systems or curation of the hybrid systems we are all part of.

We invite blog reactions to the attempts we are currently making to enable this transfer of explicit systems understanding to improvement of the human situation. Our vision includes both immediate applications and applications in the very far future.
